Despite the fact that our flight was not scheduled to depart until 10:30p on Sunday night we were able to board and leave as expected. So many cell phones were getting alert messages about an active shooter and about the lack of an active shooter, we knew something was unusual.
It was not until I read the
newspaper coverage the next day that I realized how lucky we were. People ran onto the tarmac, abandoned luggage, and almost 300 flights were delayed. They even sent twelve flights to ONT!

We had an uneventful change in Oslo. |
And here we are at our temporary apartment for a couple days. Some people got motion sickness, some people didn't sleep, and some people maybe had too much coffee, but here we (and ALL of our luggage) are! We had a helpful driver, who included a history lesson with the drive.
Time to sleep.
Hooray! I have been thinking about you all day.
ReplyDeleteSo lucky! I was so hoping you made it out of there. A cancelled flight would have been a big hassle. Welcome to your new country!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you weren't caught up in the LAX mess. So glad you and your luggage arrived safely and I hope you all are feeling better already.
