Out and About

Even though we had to wake the teenager up at noon we still got in a day's worth of adventures.

Thanks to a recommendation from my older sister we had our best meal yet.
It helped that we sat next to and Englishman who helped us with the menu.

We found this public playground in a courtyard.

My favorite part was examining the contents of the porches.

The funicular ride up Montjuic was included in the cost of our metro ticket.

At the top we decided to get the art pass, which is good for six museums over the course of the year. I imagine we'll have no problem using it.  Our first visit was to the The Fundació Joan Miró.

I am sorry there is no person in the picture to help you understand the scale of this tapestry,
which is about two stories high (maybe 40 feet).  I did like some smaller pieces, too.

The Sun, The Moon and One Star in the foreground
and Barcelona in the background.

We were going to go to the botanical garden but instead explored Los Jardins de Laribal
and then walked down to the metro stop,

which was more attractive than some others.
We did a little shopping for breakfast and dinner and at Tiger (the Danish version of the 99c store).

There are always architectural gems to discover while walking around.
Enough for one day!  TIme to pack up for moving day tomorrow!

  1. Wow, so cool you tried the restaurant! Did you order the pa amb tomaquet? I love Joan Miro, went to that museum when we were there. Yesterday I mistook a Miro mobile for a Calder mobile.
What did you eat at the restaurant?
